Walking through a Seattle neighborhood, I discovered this picturesque old garden gate and picket fence climbing up the hill.

Afternoon view of the surf from Ecola State Park near Cannon Beach.  I was driving with my family from Indian Beach and was immediately taken by the sunny surfy spectacle of this classic view of Cannon Beach. My nine year old son, on the other hand, anxious to get back to town made me promise not to spend more than a minute or two taking this shot. After a short ten minutes, I got away with this photo of the stunning view. The beach in the foreground is called Crescent Beach and in the distance you can see the town of Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock.

Early morning at Hug Point State Park on the Oregon coast near Cannon Beach. I love the way the rocks reflect in the water and the cliffs fade away into the fog. The park is named for the way wagons had to get around the point on a path carved out of rock.
